From Carolyne:

Hi Kamau, I am travelling to Vancouver this weekend to watch you and the rest of the Esks beat the BC Lions. This will be my third time travelling to BC place to watch these two teams. Unfortuneately, we lost the previous two times that I was there. (Maybe I\'m bad luck). But anyway, I found the noise level in there to be unbelievably loud each time, especially when the announcer gets the Lion meter going. Does this noise affect your focus during the game and how does it compare to the noise that we make for our defence in Commonwealth? Do other teams coming into Commonwealth have the same issue as we do in BC Place?

Hey Carolyne,

I doubt you're bad luck at all. The noise in a domed stadium is usually louder than an outdoor one, especially one the size of Commonwealth simply because of acoustics. The sounds resonate and reverberate off of the surfaces of a dome and never get released into the air so it tends to be louder in there. Not to mention that in the past they have been penalized for having artificial sound pumped into the stadium. It does affect certain things that we may do, but the most important is the snap count. To counter the fact that we won't be able to hear the Quarterback's cadence we'll use a silent count to get the play started. Hopefully though, we can get out to a big lead early and the crowd won't be a factor!
