From Brian:

My goodness, thank you very much for your frank opinion on pass interference calls. I guess the bigger question is why the league has not addressed this, and other issues, as it adds to the "bush" image of the CFL. Do you think the appointment of Tom Higgins is a step in the right direction? What steps do you think should be taken to provide more consistency in officiating?

Brian,

I do think Tom Higgins is a step in the right direction mostly because he's steeped in the league itself from a coaching standpoint so he's seen all of the angles. To me though, the best way to improve officiating is to train the officials more extensively. Not to mention you'll have to pay them better so that they take it more seriously, I think sometimes you get what you pay for.

From Chris:

Kamau, Absolute pleasure to meet you today!! Hope you have a great season and looking forward to chatting with you throughout the season!! On the diet front if you could suggest a couple healthy alternatives when making food choices it would sure help....lots of water and watch your carbs is what I got from today!! Good luck in training camp!!

Chris,

I had a blast at the Concordia Open with you guys today! I'll have to request your group each year if I can. As for the diet, if you take a peek in the "Training" section on the website, and click on the diet there's a bunch of alternatives, and meals that you can use. If you still need more, don't hesitate to let me know.

From Tucker83:

Hey Kamau, Finally the season is here!! With mini camp opening today. Just wanted to get your take on a few positions with the ball club. First off who might have the inside track at MLB and who should we watch out for to compete hard at that spot? Also who are the guys that will be competing for FS. And last but not least guys are still questioning the WR's/SB's on the ball club. Some wonder all the love in for Stamps as he has hardly played. And most are hoping that you continue that 1000 yard success but some are still questioning if you drop back into that inconsistent nature.(There words not mine, love ya Kamau) But man I also justg have this strange feeling about you. It seems once you've got to Edmonton as a person/player you're rejuvanated, this has broken your so called career slump and to me it would seem impossible for you to have anything short of a 1000 yard season. I think you see what I'm getting at!! Go Esks!

Tucker83,

Check the last blog for my take on the linebackers and secondary your timing is great on that one! Once we report and the real practices start up, I'll get a better bead on who's in the dog fights and how their going. Check the blog each couple of days and I'll keep you posted as best I can. Other than Stanford Samuels, I'm not sure who's auditioning at safety to be honest. I'll be as surprised as you once camp starts this weekend. Stanford looks in the best shape I've seen him in though, so I'm excited for him. As for Fred Stamps, I'm not trying to hype him up as the next Jason Tucker or anything, but I do think that he's the best kept secret on our team, and I'll leave it at that. I'd be shocked if he didn't have at least 900yds this season. As for me...you've hit the nail on the head. While I don't think that I've a career slump, I actually feel like considering how bad the teams that i've been on have been, my stats are pretty good! I'm just loving the fact that I'm here and get to come in and put that Green and Gold on my back.
